NeoPixel Strip 8 X WS2812 RGB Addressable LED

This 8-bit LED stick is just about the best way to get tons of colorful LED light with a minimum of wiring and fuss! Each stick is with an 8x LED element. Each element contains a red, green, and blue LED, as well as a tiny WS2812 controller chip. This means that each element is individually addressable and can accept brightness values of 0-255 for each of its LEDs, giving you 24 bits of color precision overall. Each LED is activated by using a special serial data protocol.

This protocol allows many LEDs to be daisy-chained together so that one microcontroller can control the whole lot – with a single data signal. Pinout:

• DI: Data from a microcontroller (or another WS2812 pixel) comes into this pin.
• 5V: This should be a regulated supply voltage between 4V and about 7V. More than that could harm the LED, less than 5V will either reduce brightness, or it just won’t turn on.
• GND: The common, ground, 0V reference supply voltage.
• DO: Data is shifted out of this pin, to be connected to the input of another pixel or left floating if it is the last link in the chain.
